WhatsApp Chat Help Plugin Changelog — stay up to date with the latest improvements, feature releases, and bug fixes for the WhatsApp Chat Help Plugin. Explore version history to see what’s new and how we’re constantly improving your favorite WordPress WhatsApp chat plugin.
Fixed When ChatHelp and Better Chat Support for Messenger were both active with their bubbles set to the same side, the two floating bubbles sat on top of each other and both chat boxes could be open at once. The bubbles now stack automatically, and opening one chat box closes and hides the other so the popups no longer overlap.
Added Agent Photo Type option for the Single Form/Agent header — when set to “Default”, the agent avatar now shows the agent’s initials instead of the plugin’s built-in placeholder photo. “Custom” and “None” work as before.
Added Show Close Icon option for the chat box header (Single Form, Agent, and Multi-Agent layouts) — adds a small × button so visitors can close the popup without clicking the floating bubble again.
Improved Multi-Agent list rows now show a trailing arrow icon indicating they open a chat form, and the back/close navigation icons were switched from the bundled icon font to inline SVG.
Fixed After selecting an agent from the Multi-Agent list, the list’s footer branding bar stayed visible behind the per-agent chat form, showing a duplicate footer.
Fixed Multi-Agent list rows could trigger PHP undefined-array-key warnings for timezone, designation, and online/offline text when those agent fields were left empty.
Fixed Primary/secondary chat colors fell back incorrectly when a color field was saved as an empty string, instead of using the plugin’s default teal color.
Changed Default agent subtitle text changed from “Typically replies within a day” to “Typically replies within minutes”.
Fixed Assign Layouts — the “Select Post(s)” field now follows the row’s “Post Type” selection (e.g. picking Page lists Pages), instead of always listing Posts regardless of the chosen type.
Fixed The “Floating Chat” sidebar group (Global Chat, Chat Layouts, Leads) collapsed after refreshing an admin page instead of staying open, hiding the submenu items until they were reopened.
Security Fixed an authenticated (Contributor and above) stored Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability in the `chat_help` / `ctw` shortcode. The `number` and `group` attributes were written into an unquoted `data-number` / `data-group` HTML attribute, allowing a crafted value to break out and inject an event handler. Attribute values are now output inside quotes with `esc_attr()`, and the `number` / `group` inputs are additionally sanitized to allowed characters. Reported by Wordfence (CVE-2026-15799).
Improved Bundled icon font (icofont) subset to only the icons the plugin actually uses — the WOFF and WOFF2 files drop from ~640 KB / ~535 KB to ~11 KB / ~10 KB, and the stylesheet from ~10,000 rules to just the ones in use, for noticeably faster frontend loading.
Improved Global WhatsApp defaults now also cover the chat_help shortcode and the WooCommerce Shop, Product, Cart, Checkout, and Thank You buttons — leaving a number/group empty on any of these inherits the Global Chat value, and setting one locally still overrides it.
Improved WhatsApp Number and WhatsApp Group fields now share a single source of truth for their labels and help text, so wording and documentation links stay consistent across Global Chat, per-widget layouts, and every WooCommerce page.
Fixed Custom uploaded icon images on the WooCommerce buttons could fail to render when the saved value was stored as a plain URL instead of a media array; icon resolution now handles both formats.
Fixed Popup chat fields could overflow or clip on viewport resize and when form fields were added or removed at runtime; the layout now re-syncs its height on resize and observes newly-added fields.
Fixed Minor UI, dark mode, and layout inconsistencies across the React admin panel.
Added Global WhatsApp defaults — the WhatsApp Number and Group set in Global Chat are now used automatically anywhere a number/group is left empty: WooCommerce buttons (Shop, Product, Cart, Checkout, Thank You), the shortcode, the Elementor widget, the Gutenberg block, and assigned Chat Layouts. Change the global number once and every inheriting location follows; entering a value locally still overrides it.
Added Complete admin panel redesign — the entire admin interface has been rebuilt from the ground up with a modern, cleaner UI, improved layout, navigation, spacing, and overall user experience.
Added The admin panel is now powered by React, delivering a faster, more interactive, single-page experience with improved state management and performance across settings, widgets, leads, and dashboard screens.
Added shadcn/ui component library integrated throughout the admin interface for a more consistent, modern, and accessible design system.
Added Live Admin Preview — widget settings now render in a real-time preview pane as you edit, so changes to colors, layout, text, and behavior are visible instantly without saving or reloading.
Improved Responsive behavior across the admin interface, with better layout adaptation on smaller screens.
Improved Navigation and settings organization for a more intuitive editing workflow.
Improved “Assign Layouts” is now a tab on the “Chat Layouts” page instead of a separate menu item, grouping all layout-related settings in one place.
Improved Settings, Global Chat, and Chat Layout editor pages now share the same section navigation, header, and layout for a more consistent experience.
Improved Numerous layout refinements and general usability improvements across widgets, leads, and dashboard screens.
Fixed Various UI inconsistencies across the admin interface for improved visual stability.
Fixed Various dark mode color and contrast issues across the Dashboard, availability scheduler, and other admin screens.
Fixed Missing or incorrect icons in the icon picker and section navigation after the bundled icon font update.
Fixed Multiple bugs across the admin interface, with general performance and reliability improvements.
Added {shipping} placeholder for the WooCommerce Cart and Checkout pre-filled messages — inserts the customer’s shipping first/last name, company, address line 1 & 2, city, state, postcode and country, with graceful fallback to billing details.
Improved On the Checkout page the {shipping} placeholder now refreshes from the live checkout form — including manual field edits, the “ship to a different address” toggle, and WooCommerce AJAX updates — so the WhatsApp message always sends the latest shipping information.
Fixed Product Page button could leak onto the Cart page (once per cart item); it is now scoped to single product pages only.
Fixed WhatsApp button not appearing on the WooCommerce Checkout block. The button was only hooked into the classic (shortcode) checkout actions, which do not fire on the block-based checkout; it is now rendered on the block-based checkout (and cart) as well.
Added WhatsApp Group support for the Form Chat, Multi Agent Form, and Pre-Chat Message layouts — on submit, opens a copy-to-clipboard modal with the group invite URL on the “Go to WhatsApp” button.
Added Multi Agent Form — each agent can be configured independently as Number or Group.
Added Modal CTA inherits the send-button color settings via CSS variables (`–wHelp-color-primary`, `–wHelp-color-secondary`, `–text-color`, `–text-hover-color`).
Improved Form submit pipeline now forwards the WhatsApp type to the backend so the correct URL (number deep-link vs. group invite) is generated server-side.
Improved Modal closes via overlay click, close button, Escape key, or after navigating to WhatsApp; clipboard fallback for non-secure contexts and older mobile browsers.
Added Per-agent Submit Button Text and Submit Button Icon for the Multi Agent Form layout — each agent’s form now renders with its own button label and icon.
Added Submit Button Icon supports Native (icon-picker), Custom (uploaded image), built-in icon classes, and No Icon variants per agent.
Improved Agent click → AJAX-rendered form now forwards per-agent submit values via data attributes, scoped per render so multiple agents on the same page cannot conflict.
Added Floating Widget — new dedicated post type for creating and managing individual floating chat widgets with full customization per widget.
Added Assign Chat — ability to assign specific floating widgets to pages, posts, categories, tags, and custom post types for targeted chat experiences.
Added Analytics Dashboard — new first-item admin page with real-time visitor, view, and conversion tracking across all widgets.
